Description
This hummingbird is quite special: his bill makes up half of his length. Proportionately---he has the longest bill in the world. and he must perch with his bill tilted upwards to avoid overbalancing. This species specializes in flowers with very long pendent corollas He is fairly common in his chosen areas. And, he is much sought after by visiting birdwatchers. He prefers high mountain forest edges, cloud forest, low trees, shrubs, scrubby slopes, and scattered trees. I think he is amazing.

Why thank you, Peter; appreciate your observation and compliment, especially noticing my use of the diagonal for composition----and the look of being in the cloud forest jungle. Totally appreciate your encouragement!
